Structure of the Production Design Academy for Costume:
The Production Design Academy for Costume is a unique training programme focusing on the key craft and design skills involved in the art department of film and television production. You will be introduced specifically to the key role of customer designer and be able to work alongside the other academies in production design, props, hair and make-up and learn how these diverse job roles are performed on a production.
What does a Costume designer do? The Costume Designer creates and hires the costumes for the cast. They work closely with the director, producer, the production designer and hair and make-up designer to contribute to the look and story of a production. They are able to communicate the style of the film by researching, sketching and drawing mood boards of characters and clothes. On this academy you will work in the costume department to prepare costumes for a Sci-FI film.
Due to the nature of this academy majority of the sessions will be in person in order to prepare for the shoot. Specific dates are to be decided and will depend on Covid restrictions.
